Super Wow!

Things are certainly crazy around here. Even more than usual.

I am very excited to finally shoot the CARE auction winner tonight. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! Then tomorrow I get to go downtown to see my sister who is in town for a volleyball tournament! I can't wait to get to hang out with her. Between the two of us, there are 7 kids under the age of 9. So, needless to say, when we get together it's on the WILD side. Always fun though! It will be wonderful to just get to hang out, the TWO of us!!! And I could really use a downtown fix. I am a country girl at heart, but I love a good dose of big city, downtown every now & then. Plus, I have a ton of pictures to give her!

Speaking of pictures, I have over 500 images still to edit! I have been to two workshops in the past two weeks. I am so anxious to try out all my new knowledge. My brain is overflowing! I love learning new stuff! I don't think I'll ever stop trying to learn something new.
I am also anxiously awaiting my new studio lighting that I have ordered. It just can't get here fast enough.

We are planning a relaxing Easter. Then next weekend, back down to Alvin for Ray's "Thank God I'm Alive Party." I can't believe we're coming up on the one year anniversary of his accident. We're so proud of you, Ray for all that you've accomplished in your recovery! Keep working hard, Bro!

Party's over...

We are all back from Spring Break. Which was a lot like a week long celebration. We got to spend time with our Texas Family, Ethan turned the big 4, and no school!!!

We had some great times, great memories... the cabin with the folks, a trip to Sea World, party for Ethan at the coolest gym ever, slumber party at my sister's, my dad's incredibly seasoned fish fry, and of course a ton of photos!

Thank you to the Garza family for letting me take photos of yall! I love you! A ton more to come!

And thank you to Miss Emma for trudging though a small swamp for me!

I promise to post a few more pics this week. There are just so many to chose from. This will certainly be a fun-filled week! But for now, I'm off to bed. Good night!

We could use the Dog Whisperer 'Round Here...

So our darling 6 month old puppy could use some lessons in etiquette. She is so big now that she is eye level with our kitchen table. Scary!

So tonight... all the kids were sitting around the table, everybody is excited about left over pizza. (Especially me). Harley scoped out my youngest son's place, assuming he'd be the weak link. She walked over, put her face on the table & chomped down his slice of pizza in one bite. It was gone in a blink. I can see the problem this might become.

She is already over 80 pounds and still has another 80 to go. She is very sweet. Wyatt thinks she is his personal pillow. But she just doesn't understand how big she is. The first time we ever took her to a dog park, the only dog she'd play with was a chihuahua. John was embarrassed that our dog was the biggest & wimpiest dog there. She is just a big love. A big love who is starting to steal food from my baby. What to do?

I'm thinking we get a chihuahua to keep her in line. Makes sense!

Going once, going twice...

Excited to say...

I am donating a Portrait Session & 8x10 fine art print to the CARE auction going on this Saturday in Celina. Very happy to be a tiny part of such a great cause. This group raises money for scholarship funds for local seniors. If you're anything like me, you'd get a kick out of reading this. I love being a part of small town community. Wait till you read what they auction off. Love it!!

I'm bummed we won't be there to see it all go down. But very happy to be heading back to Alvin this weekend to see my bro who has been working in DC since July. I wish I knew a secret passage way from Dallas to Alvin that only took 30 minutes to get there rather than
six l o n g hours. So if anybody knows of one, please please fill me in.

I am calling it a night, folks. But I feel like a post, just isn't a post, without at least one photo. Viola!

The website is LIVE!

So it's a big day. Or should I say morning, 1:22 a.m. to be precise. Yikes...

The website is finally live! Yahoooooo. Very happy. Just need to put some finishing touches/edits/music on it & that bad boy is done! I'm sure it will be a revolving project, but happy to be somewhere.

Once I am free from these late nights, I promise to do a better job posting.
I need to get to bed for now. Eyes are starting to disagree with me. Here's one of my favorite shots from our week with our wonderful friends!

My long lost blog...

It has been an obscene amount of time since my last post. It's been a little crazy.
First, we've moved. Yahoo. We're officially Texans again! Nate has even been saying "fixin' to" and "yall" on a regular basis. Happy 'bout that!

Second, Christmas was in there somewhere. It was a hard one. We lost one of our dearest friends.
We will miss you, Kevin. You have blessed us with so many wonderful memories.

Thirdly, we picked up a beautiful puppy on Christmas Eve. (We named her Harley in honor of Kevin, since Arlen Ness was a little masculine.) She's an English Mastiff. She's a great big baby who doesn't realize her size yet. But it is like having another baby in the house. Fun times.

Fourthly (if that's a word), I have been burning the midnight oil getting the photo business off the ground here in Texas. Should be a very busy month. I plan to launch & unveil it all March 1. So be on the lookout.

There's been many stories & memories to write of... but for now, I'll leave ya with just a couple of pictures from the weekend.

No More Training Wheels!

This was a big weekend for Ethan! He is officially a big boy! No more Training Wheels!

Dad had him all geared up with knee pads & elbow pads. Needless to say, he survived!

After just a couple of minutes and only minor crashes, Ethan was being a daredevil on wheels.
We really didn't know what to think because all of his life - we speculated that he'd be the cautious, safe, mature one! We realized on Saturday that we have been way off! Ethan is just as much a crazy hooligan as his brothers! We're in for some serious trouble.

This is my precious baby boy who is amazing on a scooter. He's been watching Nate go down the driveways in the neighborhood & of course he has to do it too. All the while giving me panic attacks. He's only 1! He'd scooter all day & all night if we let him.

This would be Nate. He's going extremely fast, feet on his seat and laughing at my worried looking face. Oh, and he's in pajamas of course. (He really thinks he should be able to wear p.j.'s to school/stores/church. Not happening) So he is my eldest son, the leader of their wildness, their extreme sport role model. What's a mom to do?
