Memory Lane

I can't believe May will be here next week. Yikes! 2010 just needs to slow it down a bit. I haven't felt compelled to post a lot of new stuff on this here blog. But tonight changed my mind. I was talking with a friend & we were laughing at some old stuff on here. Then I got distracted (surprise, surprise) & started reading all my old posts & checking out all my old images. It's enlightening! I can't believe how much my babies have changed in the year & a half that this blog has been in existence. ...how much our lives have changed, or how I've grown as a photographer. I'm embarrassed at some of my first images that are on here, to be completely honest. But I wouldn't trade that for anything. I have learned so much! I am so grateful for all of my crazy family that inspires these candid, from the heart stories. I am so grateful for all the wonderful friends I have made in the photography world that have taught me, inspired me and motivated me to improve this passion of mine. I love being challenged. I love that this is a competitive business.

That is a new challenge I place on myself. To blog. Blog my boys as they grow. Blog my work as it continues to grow & improve. Blog the little things worth celebrating in every day.

Without further adiou, here is a session from last week. Miss Whitley. She is just gorgeous! She is Valedictorian & just as sweet as a girl I have ever met. She is headed to A&M in the fall & she has big plans for her very bright future. I had so much fun with her!

I'm an awful, awful blogger. I have gotten so lazy & have been using Facebook to keep up with my peeps that I have been ignoring this poor, tiny blog. Here's a few projects I've been working on in the meantime. Yikes, it's been too long!

Goodbye 2009

So 2009 was a whirlwind of a year.
FIRST year back in Texas
FIRST official year in business as a photographer
FIRST year since college I have gotten by on so little sleep. :)

So, I wasn't the best at keeping images going on this here blog. So I will sum up the year with few more images. Then bring in the New Year with a resolution to do a better job of sharing all the beautiful people I am so blessed to know.

Point to ponder after this shoot...

My favorite places to photograph also tend to be some favorites spots for my friends who are, let's say domestically challenged. So while shooting the ever-handsome Matt, we hear a cell phone ringing from the vicinity of someone's belongings and sleeping person.

A few moments pass, before the thought strikes... where does he charge his cell phone?

Cali Visit

I miss my friends in California oh SO much! So when I got to fly back to shoot Michelle & David's wedding... happiness all around. I'm just about finished with wedding photos, but for now, I thought I better share a couple of these...
